Gaetz has mostly gained notoriety for his stunts, including storming a classified impeachment hearing in a secure room in the U.S. Capitol in 2019 and wearing a full gas mask on the floor of the House in the early days of the coronavirus epidemic in 2020, which he later claimed was not an attempt at a joke.
