No one ever had to convince Jillian Kalish that coronavirus could be a killer. Even before her father, Gene, 77, died July 24 of complications from COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus, she knew the contagion was potentially deadly because of her job interpreting messages of Orange County government and health officials.
