Legislature’s new leaders say fighting pandemic will wait until next year

There was plenty of talk about the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic and the issues it has raised during the Legislature’s organizational session Tuesday to select leaders and swear-in members, followed by explanations of why the Legislature didn’t need to convene until March to address them.
